Vicky Harrison's Bio
Vicky Harrison has been the designer and producer of a line of colour harmony jewellery and small gifts since 1987. She produces colour harmony pieces using sculpted silver and Swarovski crystals inspired by the beautifully coloured crystal formations found in nature. Additionally, Vicky uses the long established principles of colour healing (chromotherapy) to help people find more balance and wellness in their lives.
After earning a BA at McMaster, a BSc at Waterloo and a BEd at Brock, Vicky spent much of her career as a teacher. During that time she cultivated her interest in jewellery design taking additional courses in fashion design and wire sculpting jewellery courses at Mohawk College. During this time her style began to emerge and she had the opportunity to observe the effect her pieces had on the wearer, particularly colour choices.
Vicky has participated in numerous craft fairs in Ontario and the Prairie provinces during which time she was able to develop her ideas about colour: how colours evoke an emotional response and how the colours we choose reflect our emotional state. Though there is a degree of individuality to the reactions, Vicky has observed great commonality and has developed this into a system. Through the use of information pages and conversation Vicky articulates the basic principles of colour healing in her booth.
Additionally, Vicky has found that customizing pieces and building pieces at craft shows allows her visitors to put together the perfect colour combination for their unique requirements. Bridal Accessories are a unique handcrafted specialty.
