Bookmark Gems Inc. founded in July 2001 by Canadian Designer, Vicky Harrison.  Bookmark Gems are a unique style of bookmark designed using a creative combination of beads which may include handmade glass beads, crystal beads, and metal beads.  The advantage of this style of bookmark is, you can keep the bookmark in place while you read, without having it obstruct your view (you can fall asleep and wake up at the right spot!), it is safe for the spine of the book, and won’t pull out the ends as the beads act as stoppers. They are a beautiful enhancement to coffee table books or antique books on a shelf. Vicky has been granted the Canadian and U.S. patents for this style of bookmark.
